When the old arch bridge near Vianen is threatened with demolition to make way for the widening of the A2 motorway, there is one man who stands up for the steel structure: artist Wim van Sijl. He has long been campaigning for the preservation of the arch bridge over the River Lek and is taking on construction cranes, authorities, planning regulations and ministers. For Wim, the bridge is more than just a means of getting from A to B.
