This essayistic documentary explores a provocative question: what if we make contact with our galactic neighbours, how should we present ourselves as Earth?
A small group of scientists and diplomats is already taking this unlikely scenario seriously. Their lives are devoted to searching for signals from extraterrestrial civilisations and considering how we, as Earth’s inhabitants, might represent ourselves in the event of real contact. Protocols for such a momentous encounter do exist, grounded in the aspiration to speak with one unified voice. But could we earthlings truly achieve that?
